Shame on Palin for Twisting the Truth, Diverting Funds

Letters / Juneau Empire / February 7, 2009

Letter to the Editor

In Gov. Sarah Palin's most recent attempt to have her cake and devour Alaskan's too, the only thing "reprehensible" as she states in regard to the group Defenders of Wildlife is her self absorbed agenda. There are no distorted facts in the Defenders of Wildlife campaign, merely the omitted fact that pups were killed while still in dens.

Yes, Alaskans do depend on wildlife for food. But true Alaskans also live ethically, with a moral compass guiding them to have respect for those lives on which they depend.

Palin states this campaign is an "audacious fundraising attempt to twist the truth." Let me set her straight in stating I contributed zero of my very limited finances in supporting this campaign.

Shame on Sarah for twisting the truth in an effort to raise funds "from innocent and hard-pressed Americans struggling with these economic times" to instead divert funds into her precious SarahPAC campaign while she continues to maneuver herself into a future that is anything but beneficial to Alaskans.
