Wolf Song of Alaska News

Vote Against Aerial Predator Control

Letters / Anchorage Daily News / August 18, 2008

Alaskans for Professional Wildlife Management are resorting to emotionalism to combat Prop 2 (aerial predator control) by talking about pets being eaten by wolves.

Continuing the archaic, unnecessary and cruel predator control that has expanded exponentially throughout Alaska will not save any pets.

Subsistence users have plenty of food resources, enough so they can waste caribou (recent news articles).

Thousands of Alaskans put this measure on the ballot.

Alaskans have voted before to curb this type of hunting. Wildlife scientists within Alaska and around the globe have denounced this practice that our state hangs onto, mainly due to pressure from sport and trophy hunters who make money from the wolf hides.
