Predator Control

Letters / Fairbanks Daily News-Miner / April 4, 2008

To the editor:

As to the state's new predator control proposal to apparently kill competing predators without any regard to numbers or science, well then, there should be no more need for game biologists.

Not necessarily a bad thing.

What about those nasty sea predators that compete for our precious salmon?

We could start helping the fishermen by advocating open season on orcas, belugas, eagles! Kill 'em all! We could sack the whole Alaska Department of Fish and Game!

Haven't seen a moose in my neighborhood all winter, which is two less than last year ... I know which predator is responsible for that.
