I spent many years living in suburban fringe areas in the Lower 48, and having a coyote, bobcat, or occasionally a cougar walk off with an unsuspecting pet is just an accepted part of life to folks down there. So why is it suddenly making news in Fairbanks? ("Dog owner keeps wolf from meal," Nov. 29.)
Is this really a big deal, or part of Fish and Game's $400,000 public relations strategy to build support for aerial wolf hunting?
