ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A wolf pack has killed two dogs in Anchorage and attacked several others.
The Department of Fish and Game say the first attack occurred on the far northern edge of the municipality in late November. A couple was walking their three dogs when a large black wolf stepped on to the trail about 50 yards ahead of them.
The dogs chased the wolf. All that was found of 1 of them was a badly chewed collar and some splinters of bone.
The second fatal attack occurred last Wednesday on Fort Richardson on the northern side of town. A woman was walking with her dog when she heard the dog bark once, then yelp. All that was found in that attack was the dog's head and the collar. |
