Sherwonit is Right on Trapping

Letters / Anchorage Daily News / September 29, 2007

It was refreshing to see Bill Sherwonit's Compass piece berating Division of Parks officials for their lack of guts and leadership ("We need state parks officials to defy Game Board bullies," Sept. 19). His Compass addressed their allowing recreational trapping of wolverine in Chugach State Park.

There are very few wolverine in the park. Recreational trapping is very unlike hunting. Hunting allows you to target a specific animal; whereas trapping targets any wild animal, including your dog.
