PETA Should Help Pay Expenses of Moving Maggie or Stay Out of It

Letters / Anchorage Daily News / June 15, 2007

While I am concerned about the health of Maggie the elephant, I support keeping her in Alaska as long as the experts determine it is all right. If People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and these other groups are serious, they would offer to pay to ship her to another place. It is not right that they demand she be moved at the zoo's or the public's expense. Sending the zoo director there to see it is ludicrous. If they can't offer to pay all or a significant portion of the bill, they should stay out of the argument.
