Your headline story March 9, "State wants helicopters to rescue wolf-kill program," makes it sound like such a good idea that now we could kill more wolves.
What really needs to be rescued is our sense of responsibility and respect for all living things. The so-called predator control program, which we voters have said no to twice, caters to a very vocal minority. It would be interesting to see an expose of who is calling for wolves to be gunned down, how many of them are trophy-hunting guides and the extent of their political influence. Their real competition for the moose is other people.
