Ron Somerville Must Leave Game Board or Take Some Sensitivity Training

Letters / Anchorage Daily News / November 11, 2006

I am outraged by the free beer comment made by the Board of Game Chairman Ron Somerville ("Somerville apologizes for offending remarks," Nov. 2). We cannot have people serving the public who have opinions like this.

Mr. Somerville should be removed from his seat on the Board of Game immediately. Allowing him to remain in his position is a passive-aggressive stance on the part of his boss, Gov. Frank Murkowski.

If he is allowed to remain, he should be required to attend ethics classes or any other types of training that would make Mr. Somerville see that he was wrong to say what he did. He should also do community service to learn humility and compassion.
