The Alaska Federation of Natives wants an investigation

KTUU-TV / NBC / Tracy Holenport / November 2, 2006

Anchorage, Alaska - They say his remark implied that Alaska Natives missed a meeting because they were "out drinking beer." Now, Ron Somerville is apologizing.

Somerville is chairman of the state Board of Game. He made the remark at a subsistence meeting last month, which he says he made to "ease tension" after a third scheduled speaker didn't show up.

Somerville says he's sorry and is embarrassed by the remark.
