Wolves are Being Shot, an Elephant Abused -- all for the Sake of Money

Letters to the Editor / Anchorage Daily News / November 28, 2004

Thank you for at least keeping the public aware of the miserable and senseless wolf slaughter going on ("Aerial wolf hunters face charges," Nov. 10), and for siding with Maggie the elephant who needs to go and be with other elephants ("Maggie's lot," Alaska Notebook, Nov. 17).

We're shooting wolves in the back out of airplanes and keeping an elephant in conditions that are not good for her. Money is at the root of each situation, and the hearts of the people in charge are in the bottoms of their shoes.
